Thoughtless Delineation is a faceless channel. There are no on-camera guests and no live interviews. A Spotlight is a produced, narrated feature built from what you send: your photo, your bio, your writing, your films, your work. It sits alongside the channel's usual analysis and is published on YouTube and Substack.

Who it's for

Adoptees

Writers, artists, researchers, advocates and searchers whose work comes out of being adopted. This is the centre of the series.

First families

Mothers, fathers and relatives on the other side of the record, and the work you have built from that separation.

Adoptive parents

Parents whose work faces the hard parts directly: loss, identity, records, and what their children may one day need them to see.

Professionals & makers

Clinicians, lawyers, researchers, educators, filmmakers and founders whose work touches adoption and who are willing to have it examined.

How it works

  1. Apply below. Tell me about yourself, your work and what you'd want a Spotlight to explore.
  2. If it's a fit, you get a private Google Drive folder and a short guide to what to upload.
  3. You upload a photo or two, a short and a long bio, and material from your work: book covers and excerpts, film links and stills, logos, articles.
  4. I produce the Spotlight, a narrated feature built from your words and materials, read through the channel's frameworks.
  5. You check the draft for accuracy before anything is published.
  6. It goes live on YouTube, in the Spotlight playlist, and on Substack.

A Spotlight is editorial, not promotional. It will take your work seriously, which can include questions about it. There is no fee to apply or to be featured, and a Spotlight cannot be bought.

Will I see the Spotlight before it is published?

Yes. You get a draft to check for accuracy before anything goes public.

Does it cost anything?

No. There is no fee to apply or to be featured, and a Spotlight cannot be bought.

How long until I hear back?

Every application is read. If it's a fit, you'll get a reply with your upload folder and guide.
